2014
11-12 December, Studio A, Malmö Theatre Academy
11 January, FestiBorg, Sarpsborg (Norway)

Bombina Bombasts presents a projekt that develops storytelling through virtual reality gear. 2015 will be dedicated to exploring different ways of using the Oculus Rift in performing arts contexts.

Emma Bexell and Stefan Stanisic (Bombina Bombast) have done several projects using game structures in a theatre settings. This is their first attempt at VR after working mainly with video guides in iPads and immersive theatrical pieces.

During the coming year they will produce at least two work-in-progress performances to try out modes of narrating. How to create meaning and direct attention in i 360° medium? How to situate the spectators in the physical room and in the virtual room? These are some of the questions that will be enquired into. Outlines for work-in-progress performances:

#1: antigonick rift
With some material borrowed from Anne Carsons Antigonick, a translation of Sophokles Antigone, antigonick rift is a brief encounter with the words and characters of the greek tragedy. There is darkness and there is text. There are masks and puppets. You constantly are on the look out to find out where the next line of the play might show up.
